The tower was part of the old St. Nicholas monastery. It is said that it was built by the monks who came from Wallachia. In 1726, this church was destroyed in the battles with the Turks. St. Nicholas's face was carved on its facade. It is said to have had many underground caverns.In 1879, the church will be demolished, leaving only the tower.
