The Iron Bridge

The bridge is a symbol of Lugoj inaugurated in August 1902, replacing the old bridge, which had fallen a year earlier. Through the building of this bridge, the two banks of the River TimiÈ™ were systematized. For about thirty five years, this bridge was the only way to cross the river. In the Austro-Hungarian period, the bridge made Lugoj even more populated for being the road-linking between the South-Eastern Europe to the Western Europe
